I believe mental health is woven into every stage of life and influences how you experience yourself as a teen, adult, parent, and partner. This understanding has shaped both my career and the way I support the people I work with. With a background as a high school dance educator in Utah and a K–12 school social worker in New Mexico, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals during some of their most important developmental years. These experiences have given me a deep respect for the resilience people carry and an understanding of the very real challenges teens and adults face in today’s world.
My work is grounded in the belief that your mental health cannot be separated from the systems that affect your daily life. As a published author specializing in immigration and child welfare, I bring a research-informed perspective on how policy, culture, and larger social systems can impact individuals and families. I also understand that when those systems fail to offer the support you need, the experience can feel overwhelming and isolating. Part of my role is to provide a steady, compassionate space where you feel supported, understood, and guided through those challenges.
My personal experience as a mother of five, including two neurodivergent children, has also deeply shaped the way I show up in this work. It has given me firsthand understanding of the complexities of advocating for a child while also trying to care for your own mental and emotional well-being. I bring that lived empathy into the therapy room, along with my professional training and clinical experience.
Today, I focus on working with teens and adults who are navigating neurodivergence, family dynamics, and personal growth. My goal is to offer you a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered, while drawing from both professional expertise and real-world understanding.
